Please be assured that MCSO has implanted protocols consistent with the CDC’s guidelines to ensure the quality of our care and the safety of our patients.  Both for those seeing our doctors for preventative care and those coming in for a COVID-19 test.

RETURNING COLLEGE, HIGH SCHOOL, AND PREP SCHOOL STUDENTS

Either returning from a campus or dorms, MCSO is ready to test your student before they re-enter your home or are exposed to your relatives.

TEST INFORMATION

The Rapid Viral Antibody Test can determine if you contracted COVID-19 and have developed the antibodies to fight off infection. This same test also detects exposure, which will determine if you have recently contracted the virus and if antibodies are present in the bloodstream.

PCR Nasal Swab will test recent infection and is the current FDA standard under the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to detect COVID-19 virus infection.

WHAT ADVICE DOES THE CDC OFFER REGARDING COVID-19 TESTING?

If you are a close contact of someone with COVID-19 or you are a resident in a community where there is ongoing spread of COVID-19 and develop symptoms of COVID-19, call your healthcare provider and tell them about your symptoms and your exposure.

MCSO will perform the test without a doctor’s order or prescription. Be sure to wear a mask, cover your coughs and sneezes, and frequently clean your hands on your way to be tested at MCSO. If you experience severe pain, shortness of breath, or chest pain, you need to seek emergency care. Call 911 or go directly to a hospital emergency room for care.

For more information, please see the COVID-19 page on the CDC website.
