Robert Zimmerman, MD

Dr. Robert Zimmerman is Board Certified in Urology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He practices all aspects of adult urology.

Dr. Zimmerman graduated from the Rosalind Franklin University/ Chicago Medical School in 1976, upon graduation he set up his urology practice in Oak Park, IL. He is affiliated with McNeal Hospital, Rush Oak Park Hospital, and West Suburban Medical Center.

His clinical interests are focused on the accurate diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment of prostate and kidney cancer. An experienced urologic surgeon, Dr. Zimmerman is committed to providing personalized, tailored treatments of urological cancers by balancing treatment with maintaining quality of life.

Dr. Zimmerman has extensive expertise with prostate cancer and minimally invasive surgery techniques. With kidney cancer, Dr. Zimmerman favors kidney sparing procedure such as radio frequency ablation, cryosurgery and high-intensity focus ultrasound, as with all cancer procedures his focus is to get you back to living life as soon as possible.

With over 40 years of private practice, he has extensive experience with the treatment of female incontinence (outpatient minimally invasive trans-vaginal sling), male urinary leaking after prostate surgery and with office Thermo Therapy (TherMatrx), a drug-free for enlarged prostate relief.
